Homer Rhode Loop Knot

Also known as the Homer Rhode, Homer Rhode Loop, or Flemish Loop.

The Homer Rhode Loop Knot is a loop knot that has its origins in fly fishing. Invented by the legendary fly fisherman Homer Rhode, the knot is easy to tie and allows for an adjustable sized loop. In its most basic form, an overhand knot is made in the standing line, after which the tag end is passed through the terminal tackle and back through the loop of the overhand knot. One or more overhand knots can then be tied higher up on the standing line before the knot is pulled taut.
